JOB DESCRIPTION

Located in Tumut, NSW, this role requires a suitably qualified and experienced Project Manager to design and deliver commercial projects for this fast growing engineering firm. The role is also responsible for ensuring robust governance processes and effective quality management systems.

Reporting to the Managing Directors, the Project Manager will provide oversight and governance of all projects. The successful applicant will be responsible for estimates, quotation, compliance, workplace health and safety, documentation, budgets, procurement, Quality Management Systems and client liaison. As a key member of the Management Team, the Project Manager will take a proactive role in the growth and development of the company.

 Key responsibilities

  • Build project estimates and resourcing models to enable successful tendering of works;
  • Design scope of works as required to undertake effective commercial project delivery;
  • Working with the Business Manager and Site Supervisors to ensure projects are delivered within scope, on time and on budget;
  • Overall responsibility for documentation and effective document record keeping and management;
  • Develop close working relationships with clients, both on site and in relevant client authorities and departments;
  • Encourage and promote a continuous improvement environment;
  • Build and maintain relevant operating processes and practices which drive efficiency and operational compliance;
  • Ensure and promote a superior safety and housekeeping program, including all timely communication initiatives

  • Previous experience in budgeting/expense management with a thorough understanding of financial and accounting practices;
  • Demonstrated ability to identify issues and determine solutions through robust problem-solving practices;
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office);
  • Previous experience in implementing best practice/continuous improvement to drive quality standards;
  • A superior eye for detail and the ability to design and manage complex compliance documentation;
  • Previous experience working with safety systems and legislation.
