Chandler Macleod are recruiting the exciting opportunity for a Trainee Manager. Based at our client, an Australian leader in the production of premium poultry products, you will work in their livestock division based at a Hatchery in Griffith.
For the right person this is a long-term opportunity with one of the region's largest employers with support from the team at Chandler Macleod.
The operation of the Hatchery involves receiving fertile eggs from the commercial farms or hatcheries, production and despatch of day-old chicks and maintenance of the Hatchery and equipment.
Working alongside and learning from the Hatchery Manager, the position is also directly responsible for ensuring that all Baiada guidelines are followed along with ensuring the hatchery and staff work to Baiada Standards, including the following:
Minimum Operating Standards
Animal Welfare
Quarantine Procedures
Workplace Injury Management System
Environmental Management System
Workplace Health and Safety System
Chain of Responsibility Policies and Procedures
You will have the following skills and licenses to be successful:
Previous experience in livestock or processing environment
Current driver's license
Developing leadership skills including conflict resolution and problem solving
CoR Level 1 TLIP001- Supply chain of responsibility, regulations and workplace procedures
Further skills and experience required:
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Excellent planning skills particularly in relation to staffing at adequate levels, and control of chick production to meet customer requirements
Experience in staff supervision and ability to demonstrate sound leadership qualities
Well-developed problem-solving skills related to quality issues with the ability to arrive and implement long term preventative actions
Ability to set and work within budgets, manage costs and cost reporting on a weekly basis
Knowledge of the poultry livestock industry and knowledge of hatchery operations, including animal welfare will be highly regarded.
