About Your Role
Thales Australia Mulwala facility is a chemical manufacturing plant, producing chemicals, propellant and explosives for Defence and commercial sales. The entire complex is a Secure Facility that operates under Federal Government Legislation Security Requirements
The Maintenance Department is responsible for the safe, reliable and continual support of buildings, plant, equipment and infrastructure for the Mulwala facility
The role of the Maintenance Support Co-Ordinator is to ensure that the site plant and equipment is operated and maintained against the relevant standards, prioritised and managed in an ongoing program that ensures continual compliance against all regulatory and statutory requirements
The Maintenance Support Co-Ordinator is responsible for:
Providing technical support to the Maintenance Section to ensure production requirements are met and plant is operated and maintained safely and effectively against the relevant standard.
Key services include; cooling towers, pressure vessels, dangerous goods storage tanks, and various systems requiring water treatment management.
Maintaining site registers for plant and equipment requiring compliance to regulations i.e. Electrical hazardous areas, key services, and identifying compliance status and relevant standards for these items.
Ensuring all asset compliance related Critical Controls and their associated maintenance regimes are programmed into Maximo (Computerised Maintenance Management System).
Assist the Maintenance Team with maintaining site compliance in areas such as Hazardous area classification, calibration, licensing, guarding and interlocking, earthing, lightning protection, pressure vessel, bunds, access and storage equipment etc.
Ensuring associated documentation is updated in line with plant changes ie drawings, asset location changes, new assets etc
Understanding of the regulatory compliance requirements of services and assist the team with ensuring we maintain our compliance regime.
How About You?
Ideally Trade Qualifications and/or further Technical training
Proficiency in Computerised Maintenance Management Systems
Ability to understand Australian Standards and ensure services are maintained in compliance with those.
Knowledge of regulations and relevant standards including HAZOP and Risk Assessment methodologies.
Understanding of hazard identification and risk control processes.
Ability to communicate, record and manage test and inspection results.
Experience in recording and documenting historical information within a database
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office products
